SO basically this team does nothing but large scale projects. The majority of the clients exist between York County and Washington County Maryland. One day you're in York working on something and the next day you get called to Hagerstown for something else. The mileage comes out of our pockets because we are told we can write it off at the end of the year. The organization within the team is shit. Nothing is documented and no one knows how to communicate.

He also told me about the sweet ass benefits he's getting working for the government. He took a pay cut, but it still seems pretty damn good.

No mileage or gas compensation sucks. And you need to really put on some miles to be able to use the mileage deduction over the standard deduction. Do you itemize now?

I've been doing this long enough that I know I could start my own company and succeed. I've tried partnering up with others doing IT work and opening a pool hall and I always work my ass off and come up short because my partners were lazy.
