Good topic.
We were remodeling the bathrooms in the back of housatonic lumber's kitchen showroom. I screwed a piece of sheetrock across a wall with a doorway in it. I started cutting the door opening out with a sawzall, kicking up all kinds of dust.
What I didn't realize is that , smoke detectors don't actually get set off by smoke. They pick up on the amount of dust particles in the air.
I'm in the middle of cutting this door out, the smoke alarm starts giong off, wich happens to be directly connected to the town's fire department because of the volume of wood on the property.
Before i know what happened, there's 3 ladder trucks out front and guys running in with full gear on looking for a fire.
:fart: . Boss wasn't happy. He was acting like that should be common knowledge though. Any of you guy's know that's how a smoke detector works?
