Funny how GM would make the effort to flatten a huge plant like that, yet there is a vacant GM plant less than a mile from me. I was told they did that to prove a point.

The battery plant is actually supposed to be somewhere by where I live.
I have no idea how they make those calls on plants.
A few years ago, we spent almost an entire year working on a Saturn plant down by Nashville, only to have it run for a year before they shut it down.
GM spent so much money on that plant, then, just let it go.

And we wonder why they went bankrupt....

Have you done any work on that new plant in Grand Blanc? It's Magna owned.

No. And I think the next one we're doing is in Lake Orion. Another one that they're totally gutting. I think it used to be a super duty truck plant, turning into a car plant.

It's nice to see them keeping some plants around here, they need to. I can imagine that there are tax incentives to do it too. My company almost moved out of state a few years back and the state cut them a deal.
