Golf has a guy staring and staring, then moving a bit and more staring with people whispering about his staring.

Horse racing has a lot of buildup, yes, but ultimately has the animals lined up in a gate that springs open and sends them around a track at speeds of 47 mph and is done in roughly 2 minutes. Golf has no such adrenaline rush.
