I'm just wondering why the president of the united states feels like he should overide something that should go through the nyc P&Z dept.? If it was gonna be such a big deal shouldn't it be a court case? If it's that big a deal, take it to the supreme court. No??

It's just stupid.
Muslims could have built it where ever they wanted here before 9/11.
So by building it now, they didn't win anything. They didn't conquer anything.
It's not even the same "they".

Your right. it's not any "they", It's a local zoning issue. Should be handled as such.

If it is a zoning issue, so be it. If there was a mosque there before and they want to fix it up or rebuild on the exact same spot, so be it, I have no issue with that. I just think throwing up a new mosque 2 blocks from WTC is a slap in the face and disrespectful. Since I don't know all the facts, that is my opinion on the three possibles.
I don't go to Mecca and throw up a porn shop in the middle of the holy place.

I have plenty of comments on this 9/11 issue. And it is a 9/11 issue, no doubt about it.
I'm in the smack fucking middle of the country. The day this bullshit happened, my workplace stopped. We were glued to the fucking tv the whole day. I drove home in a daze, wondering why there were no trucks on the road, no airplanes in the sky, and no music, or laughter on the radio.
I tried to make sense of this mess, and I couldn't. My Stepdad was prepping his guns, counting bullets, loading bullets, and basically training all of us for the battle that is coming.
My Mom was on the couch like that episode of south park.
I'm so glad my kids were not terrorized by these fuck heads.

I'm so glad my kids were not terrorized by these fuck heads. I was in Hartford, CT waiting for my cab to pick me up to take me to the airport. My mother went into a panic because she knew I was flying that morning and every time she tried to call me the call wouldn't go through. They evacuated the building I was in and I wound up spending the next day in Hartford in a hotel room only to have to take a train through NYC the next day. The train wound up stopping between NYC and NJ due to a bomb scare. More than anything it made me feel helpless.
There are a lot of crazies out there and it just so happened that these crazies were Muslim. It’s no better when some Christian blows up an abortion clinic or when they protests soldier’s funerals.
I believe religion is a great thing when it brings people together and holds them to higher morals. There’s always someone out there that fucks it up though.

Religion is a good thing. But, put people in charge, and they'll screw it up.
Anyone remember the South Park, where, in the future, there is no religion? And everyone ends up fighting on what term to call science.
Some people are psycho and will kill people for what ever reason they can find. Take away religion, and they'll find some other stupid reason to hate everyone else.
