Actually the square plug is the regular USB connection. The mini and micro styles now are modifications to that plug to ensure more bandwidth and a more consistent connection when plugging and unplugging.

Also, since the USB connections on printers is always on the back and a lot of people are blindly trying to connect the cable, the larger, square is easier to plug in. Consider it another degree of "pandering to the lowest common denominator."

The only set plans are getting up at 6am tomorrow to fill the entire interior of my brothers truck with balloons for his birthday. He's going to get so pissed off but that's what big sisters are for!!!!

Oh, I know your pain. When I bought Jim new printer, I thought I had enough USB cables that I didn't need to buy anything. I was pretty annoyed when I found out, too.

I used to go to the city with some friends on cruise night... one night we went down to Higgins so the guys could yell at the hookers... They yelled "Show me your boobs" to one of them, she walks up to the car, leans into the window and said "If I had any"... I almost pissed myself laughing... Best cruise night ever!
