When I was reading about Gilbert, and the owner of the Pistons trying to bring an MLS team here, all the stories said that stadium would cost $1 billion.
I couldn't find anything that said where that money was going to come from, but I can't imagine much of it would come from taxpayers.  The money the Wings stadium got took enough heat, and they're a really established franchise.
People would lose their shit if tax money went to a gamble like an MLS team.

I've been watching 2-4 hockey games every night they are on anyway. Its been pretty good. The Blackhawks vs Blues series was pretty awesome. Dallas is stooped. Think I'm going to root for the Blues for the Cup this year.
