So a few weeks ago my kid brings home a yellow slip stating he got a verbal warning for play fighting. Apparently they were playing Minecraft (I had to google what the hell it was).
I told my kid I was disappointed in him that he got in trouble and that if he got another one he'd lose some privileges.
Today the school phones to tell me I have to come down. My kid got tripped and decided to get a friend to beat up this other kid but in the process he threw an ice chunk at his friend. It involves two other kids who I have no idea how they are involved yet.
Jim says kids are kids. I'm pissed I got called to the school. I said take away the tv and Jim said he did nothing wrong... Which started a fight.

He did nothing wrong. But needs some sort of negative consequence for his action.

We ended up taking away the monster truck show we were going to take him to this weekend.
the school is having their 100 day party tomorrow so he was told he needs to apologize and tell the principal exactly what happened or it gets taken away. Next week they have winter activity day and it too will be taken away if he doesn't cooperate.

He needs to know he can't do that shit. The school isn't going to tolerate it. I got into trouble for playing GI Joe with a bunch of kids in elementary school. We were pretending to shoot each other and wound up spending a number of recesses against the wall. Jim needs to get his head out of his ass on that.
