I'm doing my most hated job in the world right now... Folding socks.
I used to have Jim's mom fold them when she was over watching my kids but she hasn't been over in a long time

That's why, when I buy socks, I get rid of all my old ones and get all new socks, all the same kind.
I don't fold them, I just stack them.
They're all the same and I don't have to worry about pairs.
I have other socks, like dress socks, but I don't wear those enough to be a hassle.

I usually throw them in a laundry basket on the floor of my room and randomly pull out two of them.
