I'm just curious.....would you have prefered them to allow GM and Chrysler go belly up?

also, I don't know with even bailing out GM the first time, that they would be resposible for the people at GM to be able to design a competitive vehicle.

The admin provided them the ability to dig their way out, and they haven't done enough. Blame Obama, sure, its the easy way out, however why not spread the blame around. Blame Congress pre and post Obama, blame the distribution of TARP, blame greedy executives, blame bad business deals GM invests in.

give up the rhetoric, and be concerned with what will make things better

I am not sure if I would have preferred they go belly up. I mean I would have let them go belly up had the job market been better so the workers could move on. But it was not, so I am on the fence for that reason only.

As far as blame, I blame Bush and Obama for the bailouts, and for allowing the GM one not to work. And I REALLY blame the greedy execs and bad business of GM.

TARP was for the banks and was a TERRIBLE thing. A study showed that 86% of TARP money was used for executive bonuses. TARP should never have happened.

Government oversight of all bailout use was VERY poor. That is a major issue.

I am not sure what will make things better b/c since the GM bailout, things have gotten worse. Ford turned down bailout money and they have thrived since. Why can't GM do the same? Management is the answer. IF it comes down to GM getting a second bailout, I say no, they would need to go bankrupt and sell off their brands to other brands in order to pay debt. Some of their brand would get bought by others, some would get folded, and maybe they could keep one or two brands in a limited business model, like keeping Chevy only.

Ford restructured their front office roughly 4-5 years before the collapse, and globalized the company. it streamlined everything, and they design some of the worlds best and most popular cars.

GM is out of bailouts, afaIc, they had their chance and they blew it. I don't blame either admin for this, they were attempting to do their due diligence

also, paying ManU nearly $600 million dollars to get their logo put on the jersey was a very bad decision ($300 up front, and almost double down the road)

There is no Iranian Embassy on the US, they do business through the Pakistan Embassy.

I think it is time for the US to reconsider their alliance with Pakistan.

There is no US embassy in Iran. They do business through the Swiss embassy.
