The Mexican TV reporter at the center of an alleged harassment controversy with the New York Jets said Tuesday she's not sure wrongdoing was committed during her visit to the team on Saturday.

Ines Sainz, who was covering the Jets for TV Azteca at Saturday's practice, said she has cooperated with an NFL investigation into whether Jets players acted inappropriately toward her at the team's workout and in the locker room.

Still, Sainz said she couldn't definitively say whether the Jets' conduct crossed a line that would warrant discipline.

"I personally believe that if (NFL security) find that (Jets players) are very aggressive in the way they speak about me, yes they deserve (punishment)," Sainz said in an appearance on ABC's Good Morning America.

"But I'm not sure it happened."

Jets owner Woody Johnson called Sainz on Sunday and apologized for his players' behavior. The team intended to begin asking players about the incident on Tuesday, one day after its season-opening loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

At practice on Saturday, Sainz said she shrugged off the fact that the Jets were deliberately throwing footballs to players in her direction.

When she went into the team's locker room to interview QB Mark Sanchez, who has Mexican heritage, she said she heard comments from players such as "Oh my goodness she's here," and "OK, I want to be Mexican."

Sainz originally sent out a Twitter message saying she was embarrassed. On ABC, Sainz, who said she's a nine-year veteran as a reporter, added that she had received similar treatment in the past but "nothing as strong as this."

Still, Sainz noted that she did not initiate the complaints about Jets players' behavior. She said she mostly ignored the treatment Jets players were giving her in the locker room.

"I am not the one who made the charge and who says I feel uncomfortable," she told ABC.

Jets coach Rex Ryan briefly spoke about the incident after Monday's loss.

"We never want anyone around our team to be uncomfortable," Ryan said. "We are cooperating with the NFL and we will get down to it."

Update, 11:45 a.m. ET: NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told USA TODAY no disciplinary action would be taken on Tuesday by the NFL.
