The speculation is over: Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning will not play in Week 1 against the Houston Texans. Colts vice chairman Bill Polian made it official via a radio interview with ESPN New York.

Manning was previously listed as doubtful to play this week as he continues to recover from offseason neck surgery. He was trying to suit up for the team's critical season-opening matchup against their AFC South rivals.
