In case you plan on swimming in the Great Lakes this weekend... They are warning people of the dangers of cold water.  Outside of sticking my toes in Lake Michigan, I have never actually swam in the lakes prior to the end of June.  Because they are fucking cold!!

I swam in Lake Superior September long weekend, it was cold.
Jim and I were changing a screen on the wash deck the other day and I dropped my wrench into the wash basin/sand screw. Figured it would be a quick find but my arm was turning pink almost instantaneously. It was fucking cold. I ended up draining the basin and picking the wrench out

I'm not sure that was my first time. I swam in the Pacific Ocean off of Vancouver island but that was almost 20 years ago I went.

I've heard people say that it never gets that warm.  Lake Michigan will get toasty warm in along the sand bar areas.  Lake Huron, too for that matter.  I haven't been to Lake Superior since I was 13 or so.  I'd love to do another circle tour someday.
