Is that picture true? Is that a rule at places? no rings?

I mean if your hand is close enough for something to catch your ring, your finger might have been coming off anyway.

I'm pretty sure that's a rule at a lot of jobs where you work around machines.

The pickle plant didn't allow any sort of jewelry because of the risk of A: Injury B: Contamination.

seriously though, if a piece of machinery capable of ripping your limbs off, gets anywhere close to the base of your finger, ring or not, thats dumb of the person.

Maxim has a policy that no jewellery can be worn on the shop or warehouse floor. None of our employees wear rings either.
