My Dad was a janitor at a airport back in 1963, and he says the batteries went dead in the transponders, and the plane probaly landed in Russia.

I heard a guy call into a local radio station and say the plane was taken by aliens.
He even had a name for this alien race, the Tyrians or something like that.
And said it'll show up just fine in about a year.

I find the Yahoo commenters to be highly entertaining. Moreso than most of the articles.
