Good job by Bylsma bringing his "shit the bed" playoff strategy to the Olympics, it worked perfectly.

I hardly think Bylsma can be blamed for the 2 Olympic loses, especially the loss to Canada. Finland was just a let down game.

Haha.

I couldn't watch the Canada game, then didn't care enough to watch the Finland game.
So I was only going by some things I read.
But changing to a more defensive system against Canada after doing so great before, and not changing up lines. Penalty shot selections. The players didn't seem to really support him.

What ever though.
Back to regular hockey.

The lines were awesome before the Canada game, why change them?

What penalty shots? Against Russia? They won that game. Kane missed 2, but they were on his breakaways.

I heard the players loved him.

Bottom line, they just were not as good as Canada from top to bottom and still only lost 1-0.
I was a Little League superstar, don't hate.

Hell if I know.
They walked over the crappy teams, barely beat a horrible Russian team, then only lost to Canada 1-0.
But when you have a game plan that's working, then you change it in your biggest game, and it doesn't work, it doesn't look good.

I just think it's hilarious that the Penguins have been great in the regular season, and, well, you know about the playoffs.
And basically the same thing happened to team USA

Canada changed their style to a trapping defensive game in the US game also, so both teams changed to try and stop the other. I have no problem with that.

I don't like hte trap period, and I wish hockey could do something about it, kind of ike hte NBA does not allow zone defense.

Only 1 team can win the Stanley Cup each year. The Pens won in 2009. I don't see people getting on teams like the Sharks and Canuks who have kicked ass in the regular season never to even win a cup. Or Anaheim, Colorado and Montreal who have all had very good regular seasons and not won in well over 10 years......You could really say almost every coach but 4 has had the same situation as Bylsma since 2009.

While I love taking shots at the Penguins, just because I hate them...

That is an insane statement.

I actually think Russia has a very good team, they have 3 weaknesses:

1. No defense, at all. They don't have a Darius Kasparaitis, or other true defensive minded dman, anymore.
2. Their coach was handcuffed by state demands to showcase KHL players. Radulov cost them the US and Finland games.
3. To many ego's. US an Canada had more balanced teams, not all superstar snipers. The US an Canada had snipers, passers, checkers, grinders, defensive forwards, the whole shebang. The only forwards on Russia that even attempted to play defense were Datsyuk and Malkin.

What is? The Sharks and Canuks have both won multiple persidents trophies in the last 20 years and Montreal won one a few years ago.

The part where you don't see people getting on them.
San Jose is an annual joke, high seed, never going to win.
Vancouver fans and media are hilarious. I guess you were right in that they don't really get on the team, they think the entire NHL and world is out to screw them over.
And Montreal might be worse than Toronto.

And as for Russia, those 3 things are so right, that I don't think you can call them a very good team.
