How about this pic? A guy in our neighborhood has this '89 4-sale. 15k on a new engine. New top & tires too. He wants $7,300. Took it for a spin last week & it is tight. I was thinking of offering $6,000. What do you experts think???

Actually my thoughts are for my son who will be 16 next year. Maybe too much car for a teenager!!!

No way in hell should a teenager drive something with that much power... Think of it this way: A cop at a speed trap is going to see the red vette and then the kid and he's going to be targeted. Plus, cars like that are built to go fast. I'd be getting the kid some cheap hooptie instead.

he 16 now, what are his plans in a couple of years? college? job? college kids dont have the money it takes to afford to eat, drink, live, and fix a vette, oh yeah and pay for school

your kid does not need a vette. If you want one less kid then maybe. My first car was a 1987 oldsmobile delta 88, not a vette

My first car was a '84 Cadillac Seville... It was a piece of shit, though. For a teenager, it shouldn't cost over $2,000.
