Android gives names to their phone OS names, Apple does it to their computers, I'm just staying it's not all that different.

This is what I don't get about Android. So are they naming each individual update now? Before it was only when 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and now its 4.1? So 4.2 will be named Ice jelly sandwich?

They've actually all had names.
Dessert names, and they're going in alphabetical order.

Frozen Yogurt, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, 4.0 is Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean...

Well, each of the major updates has had it's own name.
3.0 was a tablet only version, it was never on a phone, it didn't get any big updates.
