My bosses have been talking about getting 24" monitors too, I hope they do soon.
I'd like to use this 20" (not a wide screen) as a second.

And a 2nd monitor for reference drawings would save quite a bit of paper.

So yeah, the only "normal purpose" I could see would be for a hard core gamer.
