Here's my garage set up.
The red stack on is all tools.
The blue and gray cabinet is mostly hardware.
The old phone system cabinet above the stack on is mostly things like paint, motor oil etc.

My home setup is pretty much the same at the moment.

I have alot of tools in the bathroom still. I have been remodeling it. The other half are strung out through out my little rental house, which I'm in the demo stage at the moment.

For the most part, anything automotive related stays at work. I can go get whatever I need from work, easily.

so I have a section for:

Automotive
Wood construction
Drywall and painting
Plumbing
Electrical

For automotive I break it down by system in my automotive cabinet. One drawer is all wrenches, the next is sockets, and the next is pliers and clamps etc..

Below that I have a drawer for brakes and other routine maintenance stuff, like bleed hoses, drum brake tools, and special tools like brake line flare wrenchs

Next is a drawer for misc small tools like multimeters, timing guns, spark plug gap gauges, ball joint remover, gear pullers, etc.

In the big drawer I keep stuff like funnels, grease guns, steering wheel pullers and shit like that.

When my grandfather passed away, I inherited his tools, so I have a ton of old stuff and lots of auto body supplies that I don't know what to do with...

I'm thinking you have a pretty awesome set up. I would love to see some pics.

The hobby room which is through that door is pretty messy now so I gotta clean that up. Last year I got a never been used counter top for freeeeeeeeee. I just had to glue the laminate back on the top. I installed it as my work bench back there.

I'm guessing that used to be the "mud room"?

No, it was never used as one. And I am the 1st one to live in this house.

What do you usually do in this room? Looks cool. Climate controlled?
