Pete you guys could go further up in the street #'s and it gets cheaper...with the kids and his Dad we wanted to be right there...we didn't even have to use our cars to go anywhere....everything was right there and the kids being near the boardwalk w/rides, etc. it was really perfect. You could get something on the Bay side and just walk across the street to the beach...again w/the kids and his Dad we didn't want to have to do that...oh, and none of them chipped in the 1800 was all us... ad: although we knew that b4 we left.

I just booked a place on 40th for $388.60 with taxes and fees. Ocean front, 1 br, living room, kitchen, balcony and pool. There is a fold out queen guest bed in the living room, so her best friend and husband are going also. Fri 8-27 to Mon 8-30. 4 days 3 nights on the beach for under $200 a couple. I think I know the place also, I stayed up that way before. We have a car, so it's no big deal for us to drive around. Every time I have been there before we drove around. I actually think the beach itself is nicer the further up the numbers you go. Plus we are only a block from Phillips, one of my favorite restaurants.

Pete 40th isn't that far up...heck you guys can even jump on the bus to go down to the boardwalk if you wanted to and yes Phillips is sooooo good....I think there is 3 of them down there!!!!!! Someone turned us on the the Crab Stop for getting take out crabs it's on 15th in a little shopping center. We did that 2 nights and the crabs from the Crab Stop were so much heavier/bigger than the first place we got them from...Just FYI !!!! Plus the guy said the really big ones come in like 3 weeks so you will be there just in time!!!

we did Philips, I got the local draft and souvenir pint glass

and we also did bootys house of crabs

we never used our car once, we either walked or took the bus

Been about 9 yrs since I was last there, but I did hit up Phillips that time. Awesome restaurant!
