I saw a Sony Laptop at Best Buy yesterday that I really want.

I really want to give the MacBook Pro a shot, but I hesitate!!!

I was looking at the macbooks. I don't understand why anyone would pay for a device that cost $1200 t0 $2500 with only 30 to 100 GB of memory max and not blue ray. Macs are obviously fan boy purchases, why would anyone pay triple for an inferior device just b/c it gets fewer viruses and has a different OS?

I have nevr understood the virus thing. Other than C&R site I've never had any virus issue, at work or at home. None of my computers have protection either.

look at it this way. You may spend more upfront, but you'll probably have to only buy office for your computer. With a pc you have to buy office, then deal with all of the spam, malware, virus', etc which you will eventually have to buy programs to block or clean up.

Yes mac are way more expensive, but not having to deal with the hassle is worth every penny

look at it this way. You may spend more upfront, but you'll probably have to only buy office for your computer. With a pc you have to buy office, then deal with all of the spam, malware, virus', etc which you will eventually have to buy programs to block or clean up.

Yes mac are way more expensive, but not having to deal with the hassle is worth every penny

you may call it lame, but on my pc i was running 3-4 programs just to prevent spam, virus', etc. And even with all of that I would still spend 1 weekend a month cleaning the system. That is time I could be spending looking at porn. I have not once had to do anything to my mac, it never crashes, it never fails, it never has virus'

so with a mac, does the speed stay basically the same for the life of the computer? i find that i have to reinstall windows occasionally to restore the speed of my laptop
