The crime is down... Because most of the crooks have already killed each other. I haven't heard about too many car jackings lately either.

It used to be. When GM was headquartered there.
Then they left in the 60's.
Michael Moore made that movie, Roger & Me about it.
Even when every news story was talking about horrible Detroit was, for crime and poverty, they kept saying it was almost as bad as Flint.
And Detroit at least had nice suburbs.
The thugs in Flint started breaking into buildings through the roof before they did in Detroit. Flint is much worse off. All they had was GM. Everyone in this area worked for GM or affiliates of GM... EVERYONE. Now, there are huge slabs of concrete where the Buick plant was and the other plants that were peppered around the area. Only the Truck plant is left. Saginaw started losing all of their GM plants more recently, in the past 20 years. Plants we drove by when I was a kid are now gone. I am not sure what's going in now, but something is being bult currently on the old Buick plant site. Hopefully, it's not just warehousing, but an actual chance to get jobs back to the area.
