he drives from here to toledo OH 5 days a week. works a couple hours on the dock each day.
524 miles a day at 0.62 per mile = 325
Plus 2 hours on dock at 25/hr plus drop/hook/fuel time = 165
total for 1 day = 490
times 5 days a week = 2450
for a year = 127400

add in a few extra hours of dock time and bam, easy money

You work a lot. I can see if you are an hourly employee and then roll over into OT and double time. FedEx needs shit moved, I can see where they may need extra drivers and it happening.

no OT for this guy, he's paid by the mile. City guys that do pick up and delivery typically get 2-3 hrs OT per day

I want to say my first year driving for fedex, I had a pretty short run mile wise, most of my time was dock time, I made close to 70.

rough first year calcs
80 miles a day at 0.54 = 43
8 hours of dock time plus drop hook fuel = 268
per day = 311
per week = 1555
per year = 80860 but that is maxing out at 8 hrs dock time. In reality its closer to 6 per day.

The only memos we get here are faxes from our "HR department" about discounted vacations.
There's only 3 of us here, we don't have an HR department.
I don't even know why we have a fax machine.
Who faxes anything anymore?

Ha ha ha... I see those all of the time. A lot of offices have not figured out scanning yet. They prefer fax for signed documents.

Jesus... It's one of those things people get used to doing and no one wants to change it because CHANGE IS FUCKING DEVASTATING!

It's kind of like when a person has a computer that runs XP and has Office 2003 on it and you give them a new computer that has Win7/8 on it and comes with Office 2013. I've had several people have a meltdown and ask our guys to take it back because they couldn't work anymore. One woman started crying.

My MIL just got a laptop with Win8 and she's scared of it. I am going to set it up to look like the older style to help her adjust.
