I moved from NJ to PA with AT&T and switched to Nextel\Sprint for work. The coverage with Sprint\Nextel was killing the field workers in Maryland so I switched them to AT&T. AT&T's coverage was better in Maryland, but I dropped calls like crazy at home in PA. When I left that job and lost the company phone I went to Verizon and there are no more dropped calls.
The Sprint HTC Evo seems to be a pretty bad ass phone and it's 4G so even if you stay on Sprint you have a good phone there.
The only thing that kept me away from the Droid X was the difference in the Exchange email integration that the Droid 2 Global and Droid Pro offered.
