OK, Rich and the guys has given us three weeks in June to choose from.
Remember, unofficially, the DBC starts Tuesday night and runs through Sunday. Tuesday night might be an informal diner and beers. Saturday Mercer and I are working on some events. And even Sunday might be a Mets/Yankees game or some other things before late afternoon/early evening flights out.
1. Wednesday May 30th to Saturday June 2, 2012.
What is good about these dates is that is comes right after Memorial Day weekend. Everyone will already have Monday off, so you do not have to take an entire week off and you do not have to go in to work one day before coming. The Mets play the Phillies on Tuesday and Wednesday night, I am sure we will not be able to get group tickets, if tickets at all. The Mets do not play Thursday. The Mets play the Cardinals Friday night, Saturday at 4:10PM and Sunday at 1:10PM. The Yankees do not play at home at all that week. I know all the talk was about seeing a Yankees game after two years of Mets games, so that is a minus, the plus, less regular work days to take off and will be cooler temps than later in the month. Also, Wednesday is the last day of Fleet week in NYC and there are a ton of ships you can tour from several countries and plenty of seamen for the ladies and gays.
2. Wednesday June 13 to Saturday June 16, 2012.
Yankees are out of town, no Yankees this week. Mets are out of town through Thursday, then play the Reds Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon. This week would not have a group baseball game most likely, but things are in the works for lots of Dudebro events, even if we don't hit a game.
3. Wednesday June 20 to Saturday June 23, 2012.
The Mets play the Orioles Tuesday and Wednesday nights, should be an easy ticket for us to get. The Mets are off Thursday. The Subway series, Mets/Yankees is at Citifield Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon. Probably not an easy ticket to get, but possible if you want to see it on your own. The Yankees are home against the Braves Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon at 1:05PM. Might be a gettable ticket, but that Wednesday game being on the afternoon completely takes the option away, UNLESS sirius lets them broadcast from the game or something like that. That is a longshot though. This is the best week to go and see baseball. It also will be the hottest week. The New York Red Bulls play at home Sunday night at 7PM against DC United if anyone wanted to stick around for that also. The Brooklyn Cyclones, a Mets farm team, also plays at home Thursday agains the Staten Island Yankees and it is a Jersey giveaway night. I have been to a game here and the park and atmosphere is awesome, highly recommended.
So there you have it, the dates and what is going on then. The official Covino and Rich events have yet to be determined, but will include Rich Davis comedy and other events to be planned.
