Calendar Ideas

We're going to be shooting our 5th anniversary calendar this and next month. I'm looking for themes for the calendar this year.

The last calendar we did had imports (since we're a car show team at heart), but I'd like to get a more marketable theme to branch out to different areas. The calendar before that had models themed towards the month.

So I have the following possible themes to bounce off you. Let me know what you think.

Military - Girls dressed in classic sets, but with a modern spin to it (i.e. girl with the do rag hair net, USO girls, etc).

Sports - This one is tougher because we would have to either get uniforms and shoot in them, and make sure to NOT have the logos in the frame. the major sports leagues have great lawyers that would sue the shit out of me if I tried to profit off logos without "the expressed written consent of the __________" . Although I could do generic themed tops and jerseys and get the same effect.

Team uniform variations - Right now the uniform is a blue bikini and a black button up Dickie's dress with our logo on the back. We would shoot some with implieds just an open dress, bikini shots, etc. Easy to shoot, but not incredibly diverse.


Below you'll see some of the previous shots (just a good reason to show the girls, and will probably make for a more active thread lol).

Modern American Muscle cars. Cars like Charger, Challenger, Mustang, Camaro, etc.

You could also do a major city theme where you do they shoots from different major landmarks in the city where the girl comes from.

You could also do a "working girls" type theme. Dressed as mechanics, carpenters, nurses, etc.

Calendars with themes are like pornos with a plot. We dont care show us the girls

I guess "facials for all seasons" is out of the picture?

I like the military idea. That is always hot. Will a local National Guard or Reserve base let you shoot next to some of their vehicles and equipment? If not, I have a ton of military equipment in my basement that we can use......

The only issue with cars, is it tends to alienate a group of people. Muscle car people don't like imports. Imports don't like Euros. Euros don't like Dub editions, and so on. Cars make it more of a niche than just calendars in general.

What about famous movie scenes?

lol All these are nice, but I'd like to get the whole thing down for less than 3k. Doing the famous landmarks means flying a photographer around the country, and the famous movie scenes are great, but need a bigger studio to build the sets.

I think my idea of "facials throughout the seasons" would be the most economically viable.

I would even deliver all the facials to the girls FOR FREE!!!
I am a good guy like that.
