Zombies ability to rise from the grave?

Its an interesting organization that actual has government granted non profit status.

Talks about a graveyard being an ideal place to hide out from zombies because it would not be swarmed with other survivors (and the zombies that would follow them). MY first reaction was that this would be a horrible idea. We have all seen movies with zombies popping out of graves. The author goes on to explain that it is impossible for a zombie to punch through a coffin covered by 6 feet of dirt.

In most movies zombies have about the same, or slightly more strength then your average human. And no human could work their way out of that situation.

Since any zombie outbreak will be caused by a flu virus, I think it would be highly unlikely that any infected bodies would be underground, but there is always a very slim chance that a victim could be buried by survivors between initial infection and re-animation.

That being said, I believe that it would be very difficult for a zombie to dig his way out of a coffin 6 feet below grade, but they do have time on their side (years). Unless the grave is very shallow, there probably isn't an immediate threat of zombies rising from the grave, however, years after the outbreak and time of burial, a zombie may be able to unearth himself. Just my theory.

By the way, that does appear to be a useful website.
