Joe Wrote:(Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt)

A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to):

- Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder
- Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747
- Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool
- Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself
- Bodykit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire
- Clear tail lights and corner signals
- A "performace intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine)
- Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therfore not always considered rice. It really depends on the severity of the case.

The cars listed don't automatically make them ricers. It's what's done to them. Her car is an Acura NSX, which is the American version of the Honda Civic DC5.

For example, this is an S2000 (the newer version of the Del Sol). Completely shaved engine bay, actually has the parts with the stickers and is 700 horsepower.

OK, the del Sol and s2000 have nothing in common except they are 2 seaters. The s2k is a rear wheel drive car with some character. The del Sol is a piece of shit.

And I think that is a 370.

They're similar body styles. I'll agree that the S2000 is a much better version. Similar to how the STIs are a much improved AWD version of the Impreza.

And it might be a 370. I didn't get too close to see the badges. Once you start playing with the wide body kits, you start to lose the defining characteristics of the models. Even though I've been in the scene for about 9 years now, I've only really started paying attention the last few years lol

I just want to jump in here and give my opinion. Kelly is hot. Totally gives me a sweat panter. Hate the name k pop.

As for the cars. I love all cars equally. If it has 4 wheels and a motor, I can usually find at least one thing I like about it.

Personally, I don't like the old school rat rods. I'm not going to start a hate group about it though. I will acknowledge the work and craftmanship that goes into building one, and go for a ride in one every chance I get.

Muscle cars, tuners, restored classics, low riders, custom trucks. Doesnt matter to me. I love them all, and love the process that goes into building them.

Why is it okay to be mean to a certain group of cars, just because they are different than the cars you like?

Intolerance can spread into the car shows too.

And by the way. You can turn a ford focus into a pretty sweet high performance "ricer".

absolutely, but its harder to because there arent 1000 companies making soupcan mufflers for a focus.

anytime I've looked for aftermarket "tuner" parts for my focus, they are all actually tuned parts for the car. It isn't shit you can buy at a pepboys to make it sound like it has an exhaust leak

The S2000 is the updated version of the Del Sol. They do look similar. The Del Sol is the S2000's father.

Every car type is going to change year to year. The S2000 is the logical progression of the Del Sol, similar to the progression of the Impreza to the WRX to the STI. Similar body styles but they were upgraded.

The idea of the s2000 is based on Hondas from the 60s. It isn't a removable hard top, its a convertible. Plus it was introduced during the 90s.

It isn't a front drive, its a rear drive.

The Subaru has nothing in common with these. Plus the imprezza, wrx, and sti are 3 different versions of the exact same car
