My cousin works for Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance. They did an incentive to get their employees to live in apartments in the downtown area. Otherwise, she'd be living with her fiance in Ortonville. I think they might keep the apartment, so they can stay there for games. He usually gets season tickets for the Wings.
Just because someone can call me Mom now doesn't mean I am gonna be Betty Freakin Cocker and bake any pies.

That's not the guy I thought it was going to be.
Yeah, maybe Illitch could pitch in and help a little too.
My second job, they've been doing a lot of the renovating work on one of the buildings that he bought.
He renovates a couple floors, then once he gets them leased out, he renovates a couple more.
He's even opening a grocery store down there.
I thought Illitch was doing some of the same thing, that's why I thought that was about him. I know he's all about getting all of the sports stadiums by each other. Nice in theory, but a mother fucker when more than one event is going on. Finding parking for a Tiger's game while a concert is going on at Ford Field is a bitch as it is now. Now, if you want to walk 5 damn blocks (or more) you can try to park at the symphony hall when they leave their gate open, but I would only do that with a group, because it's not a fun walk after dark.
Greektown just built another parking garage, and MGM has their huge parking parking garage.
It's only once or twice a year that more then one big thing is going on down there.
And if they build the new arena down there, it'll come with another big garage too.

I like downtown, it's nicer then people think. But it's only nice in pockets here and there.
And he's trying to improve a big area, I hope it works out.
But like they talked about in that article, I have no idea what they should do about the residential area. It's fucked. It will be like two Detroits, it already is.
They need to consolidate the people who still live there, and bulldoze everything else, and basically start over.

They need to consolidate the people who still live there, and bulldoze everything else, and basically start over. Considering what they did just north of the stadiums (knocking down all the shit), by building all the new townhouses, they need to continue that trend.
Personally, if they were to clean up the entire downtown area (inside the freeways) and redo it, it would do wonders for the city. Put some downtown condos in the old buildings or build new
