a couople weeks ago a recall came out from Ford, people with a 1.6l fusion, or escape were told to park their vehicles imediately, because said vehicles would burst into flames, and burn their families alive. They could get a complimentary rental until Ford engineers could figure out a fix for the exploding vehicles.

I get to work today, and I'm reading the latest stuff, and the recall is now voluntary, :? and engineers came out with a fix. computer software upgrade........ seriousy.

its something with the cooling system? do they have an electric thermostat in those? cause its due to overheating?

• Ford today announced a corrective action to address potential engine overheating
that could result in engine fires in 2013 Ford Escape SE and SEL models with the
1.6-liter engine and 2013 Ford Fusion SE and SEL models with the 1.6-liter engine

• Ford will make updates to the cooling system software to better manage engine
temperatures during a unique overheating condition. Original cooling system design
was not able to address a loss of coolant system pressure under certain operating
conditions. The new software will resolve this issue
