It may seem ridiculous, but policy is that any type of leakage must be:
1) Do not touch for any reason
2) Area cleared within 5O ft of package
3) Management must be notified immediately
4) Must contact the Spill Cleanup Specialist immediately

I think it's a waste, but policies & procedures are put in place for a reason. You never know these days + you could actually get in trouble if you don't follow the rules!!!

This morning I was loading my truck & noticed that a box had fallen on the floor & was leaking. I looked at the package & it was going to a pet store & was marked live goldfish.
Would you just put the box in a large bag & take it with you. Would you move it out of the way & keep loading your truck? Would you work around the package? Would you do something else? What do you think I did???

before reading the rest of the posts and getting "swayed" by them (asalomalakum), and knowing your backround, and mine, allthough i hunt deer, The obvious answer is YEA, open it! Are you gonna just let the fish die for no reason in the back of a fed ex truck? That's not the way i would want my life to end. Have a heart kid. On the other hand, what are you really able to do Eddie? You got no water on hand., and you can't go rippin all over town in the company vehichle rushing to put out your own money for a new fishbowl and water that's the right temp and Ph tho transfer the fish into without shocking them. If you didn't get it right they'll die anyway.
You might have saved two $2 goldfish's lives, but now you're company saw your detour on your truck's gps, you're fired,you're broke, and the lives of your wife and kids suffer because of it.
