C&R are getting shafted.

Greg Mercer Wrote:This is a dark day for C&R fans. I heard a little bit about this while I was in NY, but my God, C&R are getting shafted so hard. I didn't realize it was going to be this bad.

Long and short:

C&R's first hour will never be heard on a replay. C&R has totally lost the 8 PM hour across the board. Their replays are now only 2 hours long...SWOOT for someone like me who has to use replays to record the show.

Spice Radio is going to be on all night which completely kills C&R's overnight replay - Yep, no 2nd replay either which means even more of a chance of not getting the show recorded.

Wine and Web moved to 8 PM on Thursday with a replay at 6 PM on Friday - meaning no Friday replay at all due to Fool's Advice. So, if you want to hear a replay of Friday's show, you have to tune in at - get this - 8 AM on Saturday...yeah, guys are going to be up at that time of day after partying all night.

Apparently Spice isn't on the XM side...so if you have XM, you might be able to hear some C&R replays. Also, I'm not sure how it's going to work on the Internet radio. Spice might have their own channel there, so there's a possibility the overnight replay will be available there.

The Almighty Dollar is ruling Stars Too now. I hate it.

I normally listen live at work on the West and anything I miss, listen to the replay from 3pm-6pm before I go home.

Looks like now I have to record the live show on my Stiletto to avoid this BS.

Totally unacceptable.

I wouldn't be shocked if STARS TOO follows BOOMBOX, Super Shuffle, Remix into oblivion before 2011.

same here Rex... although i dont have a stiletto .
didnt rich say they had a meeting tonight or this week regarding this shit?

i hope so its 3:30 on the west coast and the replay (should be 1/2 hour into show) but its at 1/2 left until the show ends...

WTF SIRIUS !!

They were supposed to have a meeting this morning at 10:15 with the bosses, but I don't know if it went down. Spot was on Rosie Radio at that time today, plus I was sleeping and won't get to hear hour 1 on the replay.

Sirius is totally screwing C&R over. This is really starting to aggravate me. Do they even want C&R on the channel - or Sirius in general? It sure doesn't seem that way. All these other shows that are pumping money into the Sirius coffers are getting preferential treatment over content. It's total bullshit.

This is my opinion - If they can't get put on another channel where their talent can be appreciated and promoted along with similar shows, they may have to explore other options. I hate to think about that.

My thoughts:

I work in an auto dealership. It gets loud sometimes. There are days when I might catch 10 minutes of the show. Some days I can listen the whole 3 hours. The replay starts at 5pm for me in central standard time. That is my drive home. I only drive 2 minutes, but when I get home I usually put on the C&R replay, and work around the house, or work on my cars. The C&R replay keeps me kind of productive at home. I could just as easily turn on the tv and not get shit done. This sucks bad. I don't get this at all.

I'm guessing sirius/xm is gambling on the over the road pervert trucker demographic. Sorry to you truckers that are down with radio porn. Maybe that is where the money is. I have no idea. I'm just a working class idiot in Kansas. That has no terrestrial radio choices at all, unless I want to hear a steady lineup of country, and mexican music.

I recieved my sirius bill last week. I'm really thinking of not signing back up. I have never even considered not subscribing. At this point, I'm not in it for the commercial free music.

The whole idea of replays started with Howard. They didn't originally replay during the day. I am ok with fewer replays if they were substituting with quality programming instead but that isn't what they are doing. Wine and Web is good but I agree we don't need more radio porn.

I read all this over there too after the fuckin replay got cut off again and me ranting on the inshow here.
Thanks for posting this over here Leneve.
So here's my point of view. I rarely get to hear the show live because of work. I like to go home and chillax after work listening to the replay. If I didn't have a lifetime deal on my service, I'd probably consider canceling mine too. The fact that they not only took an hour off the replay but also did away with the Friday, and the late late replays, I'm just hoping that this isn't the beginning of the end for this show. If it wasn't for this show, we all wouldn't be hanging out on here everyday. Sirius is only giving themselves a black eye for cutting the replays, and the swuits don't realize it. That's just my thought on it.

Sirius/XM has been fucking them over since the demise of Maxim radio. Shitty time slots, fewer hours...you name it. They obviously don't get it. I think it's time C&R begin taking a hard look at other options.

It's also time for another round or six of hate mail to Sirius.

At least Sirus is bringing new shows to the channel to replace the replays. While I don't agree that porn radio sounds all that appealing I guess it will bring new advertisers.

Remember, C&R aren't the only ones getting their replays cut and shortened. Jay Thomas is also getting his replays cut short.

you guys are bitching about re-runs. While I understand that some of you rely on these to listen, essentially they dont have any shows for the channel, a channel that would probably be cut. Adding another show brings in the potential for new listeners, advertising, etc. This is a smart business move, and to think that replays pay the bill, they dont. Replays exist due to lack of programming.

The people running this fucking company are idiots. They cut back relatively low cost shows like CnR so they can keep paying that fat bitch Oprah her 50 million. My subscription runs out this month and I will not renew.
Everything I say is not true and all things I claim to have done or do are just made up for argument sake!!

I agree. While it's cool to hear the replay if I miss the show, I'll change the channel during the replays if I already heard it. On the weekends when Sirius plays nothing but replays I barely listen to anything, but music.

I still can't believe they don't have a morning show on 108 yet. I don't even turn on Sirius anymore until 11.
