Pawn Shop

Ever buy anything from a pawn shop?

Funny to hear the replay today about Pawn Stars. Me and a good buddy got in a real heated discussion about this show at about 2 a.m. one night.

I say those dude's are skumbags for trying to beat people on the price. His view is: They're trying to run a buisness. They gotta make a profit.

I think if you know, and i know, that something is worth $500, and you offer the customer $150 cause you know they need it.. Your not a good person.

Btw. Never bought or pawned anything. I work in the construction trade, and 99.9% of the tools in there are probably stolen. I'm not gonna support that shit.

In the mid 90s, when I was 16, I pawned a walkman in Denver for 10 dollars so I could buy a greyhound bus ticket back to Summit County (60 miles west up to the mountains).
When I got to the bus station I bought a 10 dollar bag of weed from some black dude. Went to the alley smoked the weed, then tried to think how to get more money for the ticket.

This was about midnight, and while I was checking parked cars for things of value, I got busted by the cops. I spent the night in a 2 bed cell, with a fat asian kid. He was scared to death, and kept telling me not to steal his shoes.

My Dad was not happy to have to miss work, and drive down to Denver to get me. I would have preferred to stay in jail.

Lesson of the story, if you are pawning stuff, then you have some sort of problem going on. Pawn guys are scumbags, but the people that use them are not any better.

I have never bought anything from a pawn shop. I have bought things from people that are on drugs and need the money though. ninja motorcycle for 500 bucks. I bought it quick. This was in December of 2000. I drove that thing to work everyday until March. He came to me and wanted it back. I said give me the 500 back and take it. So basically, the only thing he lost on the deal was the miles I put on it. I'm still real good friends with him. He goes through these phases like that. Last week he offered to sell me his PS3 and all the games for 200. I declined, because, I have kids now, and they use all my money.

I stopped reading there, and just assumed it was about to take a yag turn.

I've never been in a pawn shop let alone bought or sold anything at one.

I have never been to one or sold. I would buy if they had anything good. I do want to go visit Chumly in Vegas next time I am there though.

No sympathy from me. You know the deal going into a pawn shop. If you want what it's worth try craigslist or Ebay. Pawn shops are good places to find deals on firearms. Especially if you know someone who'll straw-purchase it for you to avoid you getting a 4473 in your name when you buy it.

I'm just sayin'..

Went to one for the first time a few weeks ago in Maryland. It was a shithole and had nothing that I wanted to buy.

Pawn shops began popping up everywhere around these parts when the casinos were built in Tunica, Miss(40 min. south of Memphis). It's mostly junk, but I have bought some video games cheap years ago back in the PS2 days. $15.00 for a $50.00 game because someone has a gambling problem; not my fault!!!

The pawn shops near me seem to have things like purses and odd junk... As in stolen goods up for resale. They are a very seedy place where people act really jumpy and weird. I've only been in 2 and didn't buy/sell a damn thing.
Just because someone can call me Mom now doesn't mean I am gonna be Betty Freakin Cocker and bake any pies.

Somebody stole my chainsaw, and I found it at the pawn shop. The owner gave it back to me. I was pissed.

If the Christian is ok with it, then the rest of us should be fine.
