I have a TI-89, but it's at home.

mine is at home too, and if fuckin excel would calculate 4th order polynomials

Actually, it should.. You might have to download a couple apps, though. It seems like I had to do that in my Finite Math class.

0.5095 = -2E-05x4 + 0.0006x3 - 0.0067x2 + 0.0539x + 0.2832

x=0.31746.......I hope that's right. I haven't used those functions on the ti-85 since college.

use the equation solver, enter y= equation, use the E key, and x^4, x^3, the kerate key

should give you a place for y= and x=, enter the y value, hit solve for x

Now I remember how this works. I got x = 7.934
