So, Jim and i have decided it is time to get a new mattress set. Holy hell. What nightmare mattress shopping is!

From chauvinistic salesguys to ridiculous prices. To not being entirely sure what we want. Anyone got any tips?

We did the stupid sleep analysis at Art Van ( I HATE that place), but I think that's just a scam to get people to pay ridiculous amounts of money.

You should be able to get a great queen set for $600 to $700.
I'd stay away from the pillow top, or at least the ones with the really thick pillow top.
I had one for a year and just returned it because it developed a huge dip.

Jim is leaning to the memory foam one, but I am worried that they'll develop a dip. Plus, those super soft ones were difficult to move in.

Plus, how hard is it to fuck on those super soft mattresses?

Before I bought mine (my brother is dating a girl who's dad owns a chain of furniture stores), I went to an Art Van.
When they guy started talking to me, I said I was looking to spend $600. When I really was looking to spend $700, I didn't tell him that.
So naturally, the first few he took me to look at were $800 mattresses that he said he could go down to $700 with free delivery.
Check their clearance area too.

If you get a super soft matress, let us know.
