My vote is for Jack White and all of his bands and projects.

They're good, but I had friends telling me about him/The White Stripes in the late 90's. I don't know if they should count.
Godsmack has been awesome in the last 10 years, but they were out before then.

Avenged Sevenfold was the first band that came to mind.
