Corolla making strange noises

I don't know toyotas at all. It kind of sounds like a transaxle issue. I haven't had to mess with very many though. A rear differential will make a noise similar at coast. Hit the gas or brakes, it takes the load off the gears, and the noise goes away.

Noise problems are almost impossible to diagnose, without having the car, and listening in person. It being a Toyota, I really have no idea. I have never worked on one. I'm good enough with the Ford line up now, that I can usually help, just from a description.
