THIS.

Here's the big difference. All of us here truly give a shit about you. You're our friend and we're looking out for you bud. Part of being a real friend is asking the difficult questions sometimes. Nobody here is trying to bust your balls over it. Don't mistake genuine concern for an attack on you or her.

Sorry. Knee Jerk reaction from a guy that hasn't slept much, mixed with frustration, excitement, fear, and every other emotion a guy would normally have during a 9 month pregnancy, all compressed into 7 days. And then couple that with the fact that it isn't my child.

It's a very complicated situation, and I'm not going to lay it all out here, because no matter how in-depth I get, I'm bound to miss details that I deem inconsequential, but might make the difference to one or two people, forming an opinion. The point is, before this happened, I was already planning the propose to her, and still am, just have to time it a little better, because more pressing matters are going on, as you can imagine. This is a woman I love very much, and every friend we have has told me privately how in love she looks when she's with me, and I see it in her eyes whenever we're together. Also, those same friends, were also blindsided because they didn't notice her being pregnant either. So it's not just the two of us that missed it, everyone around us did too.

To kind of hammer home the "I'm not being duped or trapped" angle, she isn't expecting me to financially help her out on this, because it isn't my child. She expects the ex to deal with that. I'm not the scapegoat or sucker that is going to be on the hook for money here, although since I coupon, I'm going to stock up on diapers, formula and wipes, etc., to make sure every dollar he does pony up is stretched to the very limits of what it can do. I already have 5 boxes of diapers, 10 tubs of formula, 700 wipes so far, and enough dye free perfume free Tide to wash a load of laundry every day for 2 years (only spent $10 so far). They say a baby goes through about 5000 diapers in the first year, and I should have that by mid February lol.
