My friends had a DLP, and they got one little white spot in one of the pixels, and due to the mirroring system it uses, they replaced the TV cause the repair was so expensive.

this was 2 1/2 years ago, so it maybe cheaper to fix, but DLP isn't really used anymore and parts may be a bitch to get

If you have problems with the mirror system you're screwed. I'd certainly replace the TV if that was the issue. From what I'm reading the problem is a chip in one of the boards. I'm just looking for information on which board it is. It seems to be common so I figured if someone works in this field they'd know what this problem is. If I can fix it for like $300 then I'm not going to replace the TV.

I love the picture on this thing. The tv is like 3 years old and the HD quality is awesome.
