I've never personally seen a thermostat go bad on those years of explorers either. always a leaking radiator.

yeah. I think that was them. its like a combo radiator/condensor/trans cooler all in one unit. I think.... It's been awhile.

I think that's exactly what happened. It looks like it was leaking out of the housing because the pic he sent me looked like there has been a leak in that area. Even still, the housing is only $18. They told him like $548 and then he talked to them again after talking to me and they said it should be like $163. He went there and waited for a few hours and then they said it was going to be $589 so he left. He dropped it off at a Ford dealer this morning
