My kids are a long way from high school sports.
I was at work, and I saw the kids running by the shop at 8 am then saw them running again that afternoon. I was just remembering how much that sucked as a 16/17 year old guy. Middle of August, still partying every night. Showing up to the morning practice with the taste of beer in my mouth, and the smell of pussy on my fingers. I would go straight to practice from whatever party house I had been at.
There were a couple times I drove to the country (in the family's communal, 1994 Ford escort wagon) , parked behind a barn and took a nap with the ac on.
The coaches thought I was working on the farm, my parents thought I was at practice. Perfect crime.
