Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale - Joe - 01-16-2011 Basically I walked in to the beer store and told the guy the last 2 beers that I bought and liked and asked him what I should get next. He pointed out a few and I picked this one. Appearance: Basic yellow ale. Little foam with a bit more lacing. Decently carbonated. Holy Grail Ale looks like your average light ale or lager. Smell: Biscuit malt and some faint citrus hops. Taste/Mouthfeel: Tastes just like the smell. Tastes like bread. Pretty clean and dry finish, a lot of soda water. Drinkability: Hits all the standard beer points so I can drink this. Overall: The guy at the beer store told me it was like Newcastle. Newcastle is a bit smoother. I won't have a problem finishing the case, but it won't be something I'll buy again. Serving type: bottle Re: Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale - Chip - 01-16-2011 I've had that before. I wasn't too impressed, and haven't had it since either. The name is the coolest part. Re: Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale - Pokes28 - 01-18-2011 I've had one or two of those. I thought it was just ok. Generally speaking, if a beer has a pop culture reference as a name, the beer won't be great. Re: Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale - i bleed green - 01-18-2011 Good man, stout lad, backbone of England.
