I am considering a few, right now, Patton might be the top guy.
I like admission.
I don't know any generals. Mills? Motors? That is it.
:nothingtoadd:
General Motors has taken pretty good care of a lot of my family until recently.
I think I need to be more specific. I meant military General.

General Patton, General McCarthur, General Powell, etc
General Disarray

General Patton, General McCarthur, General Powell, etc

So, General Electric wouldn't count?

That is correct, General Electric would not count.
general mills
I'd give Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson my vote. Had he not been killed at Chancellorsville I don't think Bobby Lee would have lost at Gettysburg. The entire outcome of the Civil War could have been very different.

Patton is an obvious choice...Ike should have listened to him and the war in Europe would have been over in 1944.

Erich Von Manstein is another great choice...IMO he was the Wermacht's best.

Of course if you go even further back Ghenghis Khan, Alexander and Sun-Tzu are in the mix as well.
So, uh, what brought this topic about?

It's hard to argue with Chenghis Khan and Alexander.

Another good one is General Giap. Probably not a popular pick b/c his strategies killed so many Americans in Vietnam, but he was an outright strategic genius. Might be the best post WWII General out there. For those of you that don't know, he was a VC/NVA General in the Vietnam war.
