New York, United States

Style | ABV
Russian Imperial Stout | 11.60% ABV

Notes:
Rotating. Serving types had: bottle (313), cask (12), on-tap (3).

Brooklyn Black Ops (2008 commercially available version) was aged for four months in bourbon barrels, bottled flat, and re-fermented in the bottle with Champagne yeast. 940 cases produced.

I'm thinking of trying it. At $22 a bottle its way to expensive for a beer, but from what I have heard it is worth it. Anyone ever try it?
Where can I get it?
Not sure, they only made about 1,000 cases this year. if you ever have some time to kill in Brooklyn i highly reccommend going to happy hour at their brewery on fridays.

They make a lot of great beers, and i'm sure you could get it there.
Holy shit!! 22 bucks a bottle? Even at double the alchohol content of the beer around here, I would have to drop 132 bucks for every night I drink. Which is more than 2 times a week.

You drink a 12 pack, 264 dollars. Wow!!! It must be delicious.
I want to try it. Might be on the list of things to do at the dudebro convention.
I've tried it. A buddy brought me a bottle. Personally, not my thing. It is very complex tasting (meaning you can taste the coffee from the stout, the oak from the barrel, etc), very carbonated and doesn't have the normal creamy aftertaste that most stouts have which I think comes from the 2nd fermentation.

I don't view it as a real beer, just a novelty.

@GaryVee did a WineLibrarytv.com episode with the brewmaster. It was a really, really good show and that guy knows his shit about beer and about wine.
That shit better taste great and send me into a 2 day comma for $22 a bottle.
The Brooklyn Brewery makes some fine beer. However they have the worst tour of any brewery on the planet.
