I've been trying to redesign the site for the past few weeks when I'm not working on the house. There are a lot of new forum engines out there and even updates to this engine that have a lot of nice features that I'd like to go to. The problem is none of them look and feel like this one does. I get tired of seeing the same thing, but damn it took so long to get it right that changing it feels weird.

I'm kinda with homo.
Change is usually fun.
But, change for the sake of change isn't.
The features aren't that noticeable on the outside. Al lot of what was modified here was done manually by changing code. The new boards have systems that let you install extensions rather than modifying code. I would like a portal, a gallery and maybe a blog.
I have a bunch running on the server that I am testing. Mainly I just can't recreate the look of this one.

And then there are some paid ones like Xenfor and VBulletin.
I just kind of felt like if I could improve it and add some stuff I could get people back. Even the C&R forum is slow.

I didn't spend as much time on those as I had hoped, Joey. The dogs were not cooperating.
My job sucks so much that it is draining all of the energy out of me. This new girl has only been here 2-1/2 weeks and she hates the boss already. That just shows it's not just me.
Stacy's company is in the process of being purchased and today they sat down with everyone and interviewed them. She hates her job and they kind of sensed something was up so they pressed her for it. When she finally told them her boss talks to her unprofessionally and depends on her to do everything they told her "Yes, we know who makes this place function." Hopefully that will put her in a better place there. I know she really hates her job too.
Jim's place will finish their changover to the new ownership by the end of September. So far, they are claiming nothing will change. I am hoping to land something decent before summer is out just in case they are lying to their employees.
