I went to a friends baby shower yesterday. Her fiancé is Portuguese. I love his mom, her English was poor but when she found something that would make you laugh, she'd keep saying it. She kept coming to me saying where's my faca (knife)?
I learned Portuguese people love food. My god, the amount of food at that shower. There was pulled pork, meatballs, what looked like batter dipped perogies with cheese and shrimp inside. Fruits, veggies, cheese and crackers, macaroni salads. Then desserts... Cupcakes, rice pudding, jelly rolls, like 10 different types of squares, brownies, cream puffs and homemade donuts I felt like a pig.
