Because of labor protests, our ancestors -- Pittsburgh's ancestors -- got shot by Pinkerton Guards. That's right: shot. Not yelled at by police, not smoke bombs, not pepper spray, not sound cannons, not tear gas: shot. You know what they wanted? It wasn't the end of a world wide capitalist system, just regular working hours. That's it.

Instead, they got shot at.

There was a group of monks that walked across a bridge today.

For peace.

There was a group of protesters that dressed up as world leaders in Steeler uniforms.

For hunger

There was a group of protesters that hung from a bridge yesterday.

For the Earth.

While all spectacles, they harmed no one.

So, you'll have to pardon us if Pittsburgh doesn't have sympathy after you smash our windows and mess up our fair city. We've seen it before; we're not particularly thrilled about what you're doing. Especially, considering we got shot at to allow you to do... whatever it is you think you're doing.

I was taking a jab at Detroit's crime rate, they would rob the protesters of their own damn signs. It actually would be entertaining.

Those people are definatly being assholes pushing dumpsters at the cops and tipping over garbage cans. They deserve whatever they get.
You are suposed to be able to PEACEABLY assemble though. Check these out. The narrator is kinda trying to over sell it, but the cops start arresting and pepper spraying everyone pretty much un provoked. If you got a short attention span like me, just watch from about 2:15 in on the second video

In Pittsburgh you need a permit to assemble. Peacefully or otherwise. So the entire thing was illegal from the start. They all should have been arrested as soon as they took one step.

Also, I am not able to watch the youtube videos now, but I can GF Guarantee they are from protesters. I can tell you that the Police were NOT doing ANYTHING unprovoked. I was in town last night. My sister lives on the street where all this shit happened. I have several very good friends who are Pittsburgh Police officers that I have spoken with. The "protesters" threw rocks and pushed dumpsters before the police took any action.
