i agree.. but it was a little different in this case..
the contract on the table was take an 8% pay cut, then after year 1 they get 3%, 2 yrs 2%, 3 yrs 2%, 4yrs 1%
so basically it will take them 4 years to get back to their current wage. I don't know if they were overpaid to begin with or what.. but a pay freeze might have been a better option and probably would have kept them going. from what I have read, that company has been fucked up for a long time, from upper management all the way down.

Good. I like to think of it this way, if you want a better paying job go get a better paying job. If there are no good paying jobs in your area than do something about it.

As far as their pay cuts go, I'm pretty familiar with that. We took a 10% cut back in 2009. 2 months later we lost our jobs. They should have considered themselves lucky. Fucking Twinkie killers!

Unions, what a dumb outdated concept. They are killing the American economy. Unions are not needed any longer with all the labor laws that are in place.
