This is a topic I don't really know what side I am on, so I thought I would toss it up to you guys because for some odd reason you guys make some killer points (in between ball bustings), and it is sort of a spin off of the license to conceive debate.

A few years ago a minor splash in the news was made by the parents who named their kid after nazi figure heads (Adolf Hitler, is one of their sons names).

Aside from the violence towards the kids (just remove that from equation because), is this a free speech issue?

Normally I am 100% on side of free speech & expression except I am drawing a pause here because they have made it an issue for their child. If they had changed their own names to hitler- I would be ok with that, and just dismiss them as ignorant. But now they have created a problem for their child in 1) they are probably going to be raised ignorant and 2) have applied the name associated with evil to them without their consent.

I think they must be sick individuals to names there kids after monsters. It's a tough line to cross. Yes, we have the right to name our kids whatever we want, but to push the envelope and name your child something like that is just a cry for attention. I'm torn whether taking them away from their parents was a tad extreme or not, but I thought I had read that the kids weren't being abused that just their names were raising the concerns.
Over-reach of government authority if you ask me. Would I monitor these dolts? Yeah. Take away all their kids over it? No way man.
